Grid Smarter Cities, a leader in sustainable urban logistics, kerbside management and freight decarbonisation, is proud to announce it has been named a finalist in two prestigious categories at the 2026 Decarbonising Transport Awards, hosted by Landor Links, recognising excellence in transport decarbonisation and digital innovation:
- Best Freight & Logistics Decarbonisation Award
- Best Data & Digital Innovation for Decarbonisation Award
This recognition highlights the contributions to reducing carbon emissions in urban freight and advancing data-driven digital innovation in transport through our award-winning project on Walworth Road, marking another milestone in Grid Smarter Cities’ journey to transform freight operations and help cities reduce emissions and congestion.

Grid Smarter Cities has previously earned industry recognition for its groundbreaking work in sustainable freight, kerbside management and smart city logistics. Its pioneering project, the first-of-its-kind kerbside management project on Walworth Road, developed in partnership with Southwark Council, has previously been awarded the Future of Parking Award at last year’s British Parking Awards. This initiative enhances delivery efficiency, cuts congestion, and reduces carbon emissions by enabling bookable, managed kerbside loading bays — eliminating unnecessary circling and idling by delivery vehicles and supporting lower-carbon urban logistics.
The Decarbonising Transport Awards celebrate organisations and projects making measurable and scalable impacts on transport decarbonisation and reducing transport-related carbon emissions across the UK. Finalists were selected by an expert panel for their leadership in innovation, data-driven transport solutions, and real-world sustainability outcomes.
“Being recognised across both freight decarbonisation and digital innovation categories underscores the strength of our approach,” said Toby Hiles, Sales and Partnerships Director at Grid Smarter Cities. “We’re committed to empowering cities with smarter logistics infrastructure, reducing emissions, improving efficiency and making urban freight delivery cleaner and more reliable.”
The winners will be announced at the Decarbonising Transport Awards Ceremony on the 27th March 2026 at the Royal Lancaster London Hotel, London. Grid Smarter Cities looks forward to celebrating alongside fellow innovators and continues advancing its mission to build greener, smarter, and more sustainable cities through technology and collaboration.l urban deliveries and actively contributing to the creation of greener, safer, and smarter cities.
