SAFER KERBS. SAFER DELIVERIES. SAFER STREETS
The Safe Stops Campaign
The Brewery Logistics Group (BLG), in collaboration with Grid Smarter Cities, is launching the ‘Safe Stops’ Initiative — a national effort to improve safety, compliance, and efficiency in brewery and hospitality deliveries across UK cities.
The Safe Stops Mission
The initiative seeks to enhance driver welfare, pedestrian safety, and operational efficiency while supporting local authorities to introduce digital and physical improvements through Virtual Loading Bays and safer access management.

Safety
Improve delivery safety and reduce road risk for brewery and hospitality drivers.

Data
Provide local authorities with data-led evidence to inform kerbside and freight policy.

Decarbonisation
Support Vision Zero and Net Zero goals through reduced congestion and emissions.

Purpose
Every day, brewery vehicles are forced to make deliveries where no safe or legal loading provision exists.
The Safe Stops campaign aims to identify and prioritise hazardous or non-compliant delivery locations and work with local authorities to deploy digitally managed, legally compliant delivery zones — ‘Safe Stops’ — enabled by the Kerb platform. Each Safe Stop provides operators with bookable access and supports safer, more sustainable logistics operations.

John Crosk, Chairman of the Brewery
Logistics Group
“This campaign is about making every delivery safe, legal, and efficient. Our members know the streets better than anyone — they can help councils identify where danger and non-compliance occur, and how digital tools can fix it.”
