Allocating space is paramount, we need the space to do the delivery. If we’ve got the space we wouldn’t have an issue. It would be less PCNs, because there’s a cost element to that as well and the closer we are to the delivery point the quicker and safer we can do the delivery which would only increase productivity. – Richard Harrison, Site Manager at GXO – Tilbury

Service & Maintenance

Chaos at the Kerb

At the kerb, there are many competing users, diminishing capacity, inflexibility and no dynamic prioritisation or management. Commercial freight, servicing and delivery operators currently function on a ‘first come, first served’ basis leading to increased conflict, inefficiencies and penalty charges.

The Brewery Logistics sector has key health and safety considerations when delivering to hospitality venues. To deliver beer to a pub we require at least three feet of space around the back of the vehicle. The Virtual Loading Bay booking capability helps our members with access, compliance and delivery certainty.John Crosk, Chairman at The Brewery Logistics Group
